Kristen moved to Nevada City with her family in 2011 after living in North West Montana for 18 years. She has always been passionate about fitness and movement. Growing up as a gymnast and a swimmer she became the swimming director and head coach of a swim team for many years and then grew into the personal training world. In 2000, while visiting California, she took her first Pilates class. After that class she realized the importance of the precise and intricate movement that Pilates offers and was hooked. She studied under Balanced Body and was certified in 2001. Her personal training clients showed her great support and urged her to open her own studio, which she did, and it is still open and operating today. Another side of Kristen is her love of the outdoors and adventure racing. She has raced all over the world with her teammate and husband, Darin. They have achieved many top finishes and continue racing, even after three kids. Kristen firmly believes that her strength is sustained from the power in Pilates.
